Adjectives

Adjective is a word that describes noun.

For example :

In the above picture underlined word colourful describes the noun butterfly and the word brave describes the noun soldier. They are the adjectives of those nouns.

Big basket has juicy apples.

Here, Big and juicy are adjectives.

Kinds of Adjectives

There are mainly four kind of adjectives.

1. Descriptive adjectives
2. Demonstrative adjectives
3. Quantitative adjectives
4. Adjectives of Number.

1.      Descriptive Adjectives :

            Descriptive adjectives show the kind or quality of person or thing.

1. She is a pretty girl.
2. The room is clean.

2.      Demonstrative adjectives

Demonstrative adjectives point to a particular person or thing.

1. I want that motorcycle.
2. Do you like this pen?

3. Quantitative adjectives :

Quantitative adjectives shows how much of thing is meant;

1.  I has some pencils.

2.  I did not drink much milk.

3. She takes great care of her health.

4. Adjectives of Number :

     

      Adjectives of Number shows how many person or things are meant; or in what order person or thing stands.

      1. Yuveraj Sing hits six boundaries in a over.

      2. They had three ice-creams.
